Willow And Wind

Made my way through the pines
Where the sun don’t ever shine
Found a friend in the night
Walking aimlessly under city lights

There you’ll find me, once again
Walking backwards on the finishing line
No one wins in these streets
Watered eyes
Winter’s heart

Birds will sing
Long hereafter
This old town has withered and gone
It’s scratched my knees
Burns hereafter
Willow and wind
Hope and time

So lay your arms down
Let the old winds do what they always do
I lay my down for good
When my plans to leave crashed and burned
Titter tattered in two

Birds will sing
Long hereafter
This old town has withered and gone
It’s scratched my knees
Burns hereafter
The scars might stay but my heart never will

Birds will sing
Long hereafter
This old town has withered and gone
It’s scratched my knees
Burns hereafter

Willow and wind
Hope and time
