Some Blue Sky

Quietly watching shadows disappear
Always waiting for now voice to call my name
Biding my time here
My name is on every grave
I will spend days here paying for it

Serpents sing the old songs and they find me
Slither through the underground and show me how it’s done
I have earned this silence that dissolves me
I’ll just count the hours while you wait
For some blue sky

There once was a dark and destructive place in me
Thought I was clever then
Thought that I was right
It isn’t the tide that gives way to the fault lines
But it will spend days here paying for it
